Jeni grew up on the high plains of Montana listening to the far-off whistles of trains that evoked images of exotic places and people whose lives were very different from her own. In this highly entertaining and educational program, she presents vignettes from the development of our nation through the prism of railroad songs from a variety of musical genres. Included are Black and Irish worksongs, country music, folk music, the blues, Dixieland jazz and songs from the Underground Railroad to the Civil Rights Movement. All aboard for a fascinating journey across America!
